 Here to sell is our Skoda 4x4 estate.We've had this car for a year and it's been perfect. We wanted a 4x4 estate that was cheap to run, and this is as good as it gets. If you don't know much about these vehicles, they are based on the MKIV VW Golf platform, which is also used for the Audi A3, TT, Golf, Seat Leon etc. This is the 4x4 version which is the same chassis as the Golf R32. The parts from the R32 are largely interchangeable. She's got the 1.8T engine as found in the Skoda VRS, Audi S3, TT Seat Cupra etc. The 4x4 system is completely automatic, the car runs in 2 wheel drive most of the time but when it senses the wheels losing grip it sends power to the rear wheels. It's the famous Quattro system designed by Audi. She's also got ESP, so the snow poses no problem at all. I took her out today, we live in the Chiltern Hills in Oxfordshire and there was a good 4 - 5 inches on the lane, and she was faultless. if you need a car to get you there in the snow and ice, this is it!

 She's also got the added benefit of LPG, which is fantastic. The tank is 70 litres and is in the spare wheel well. the tank will hold 56? ish litres. The system is completely automatic, the car starts on petrol and switches seamlessly onto gas when the engine is up to temperature. This makes the car very economical to run, she will do 250 ish miles on a tank of gas, which is currently around 74p per litre from my local garage, but as low as 65p elsewhere.

The car is an Elegance model and comes with black leather seats, alloys, sunroof, roofbars and I have also added a genuine Skoda dog guard and a luggage cover. We don't actually have a dog, it just stops stuff falling from the boot onto the kids in the rear. Neither of these are cheap! The car also has a towbar and genuine Skoda mats.

Since we bought the car we have had the cambelt, tensioner and waterpump changed at a VAG specialist so that's good for another 70 + thousand miles. The oils and filters have been changed with fully synthetic and OEM filters. There are 2 new tyres on the front and I've also changed the anti roll bar links, bushes and the bottom engine mount bush with polybushes. The spark plugs and coil packs have been changed and the throttle body has been cleaned. The top breather hose has been changed for a silicone one and all the electrical connections in the engine bay have been cleaned and sealed.

There is a stamped service book, with just one stamp missing (I think). The V5 is here in my name and she comes with some receipts, and an owners manual. She wants for nothing, apart from a set of rear discs which are showing their age but there about £20 each from Eurocarparts. The body is really good for it's age, with the odd mark here and there. There is a bit of corrosion on the bottom of the front arches and sills, and there is some on the rear tailgate. koda are doing the tailgate under warranty.

We love this car, but sadly we need more space, so a boring MPV is on the cards. The car is here to sell, but please only bid if you want to buy it. This is a cash sale, and I will be checking the notes. I can meet you at Reading station, or possibly deliver the car within reason for a fee but this would have to be agreed and the car will have to be paid for before I set off. If you want a cheap to run 4x4 that's a swiss army knife of  a car, then this is it. If you absolutely have to have the car then please email me an offer.  Just a quick update on the gas system. The car was professionally converted in 01/2008 at 85765 miles by an Auto Gas authorised Installer in Carmarthen. It's a Romano Multipoint Injection System (Fast) with a Romano Regulator and a Stako 61 litre tank that sits in the spare wheel well. We do have a full-size spare wheel for the car which is included in the sale. We usually just carry a can of tyre weld which I will also leave in the car.  The system is not due for a retest until 01/2018. The certificate is present and the car is correctly registered with the DVLA as gas bi-fuel. The system is completely automatic, she starts on petrol then switches over when she's up to temperature. The petrol tank is still the same as when it left the factory and she's equally happy running on unleaded, so you don't need to worry about running out of fuel!. If you fill both the petrol and gas tanks the range is massive.

I've been asked about the economy of the car so I took it out today. I reset the computer and started off in about 2 inches of snow for the school run! I've done just under 20 miles altogether, and the trip computer has shown 32.5 mpg. I've never paid much attention to the exact economy, I fill her up with gas and when the gas fuel gauge starts dropping down to the last green light I go and fill her up again. She is very cheap to run, certainly the cheapest 4x4 I've had by a mile.
